Bikavér, 2017

In the Szekszárd region Bikavér needs to have Kékfrankos and Kadarka in the blend. Jani always have 50% Kékfrankos as his base and 10% Kadarka. The other varieties change by year between Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Zweigelt.

He ages the wine 1 year in old barrels, that results in an elegant and complex wine. His Bikavér represents complexity and elegance, coming from the nice acidity structure, backed with ripe black fruits and subtle spices. Amazing wine to pair with hearty dishes, such as lamb, or duck, but creamy cheeses (brie) or chocolate also matches excellently. Definitely an ageable wine.
